Annual Midwest Microscopy and Microanalysis Workshop

The Notre Dame Integrated Imaging Facility will host its Annual Midwest Imaging and Microanalysis Workshop on May 11, 2022 in rooms 205-207 of McKenna Conference Center here at Notre Dame. Participation in this workshop is free but registration is required and can be completed on the registration form found here

Lectures will be held by leading experts in electron microscopy companies alongside the Faculty and Students within the University of Notre Dame. The topics will include new trends in in-situ and high-resolution microscopy for nano-technology, materials, and bio-sciences. An emphasis on new tools and the features of the Spectra 30-300 (S)TEM equipment and capabilities within NDIIF will be held in the morning hours leading to a discussion of the current and future capabilities of CryoEM on the campus of Notre Dame just before lunch.  The afternoon will be dedicated to the current research programs taking place on our campus highlighting a few elite award winners. 

Finally, we will end the day with a unique remote operation session exploring imaging techniques and usage of the tools in real-time.  Additionally, we encourage students to participate in a poster competition held during the workshop. There will be cash prizes for three of the best poster submissions. Please submit the title of your poster along with a brief abstract to MWIM Workshop -Registration Form. Winners of "The Best Imaging Publication of 2021" will be recognized along with poster presentation winners near the conclusion of the workshop.
